Follow Friday (6)

It's time to end the week with Follow Friday Hop hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.

Q: When you've read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)
A: It really depends on the book. For books that I really enjoy, I lend it to my friends. If the book wasn't that great I'll either donate or give it away. However, for most books, I just keep it and shelve it.

Don't forget to enter the giveaways.
Current Giveaways:
The Master by Jean Johnson (12/31)
Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill (12/31)
Vampire Academy books 1-3 by Richelle Mead (12/31)

*melannie: Again, congrats on being the feature this week! I'm glad that the title of my blog tickles your funny bone. ;)

*michael: Thanks for the follow! Sadly enough, the blog title is still relevant to the situation in my life. :(

*sarah brown: I've been out of room on my shelves for quite some time now. Sadly I started boxing them recently. I blame it on Borders closing down.

*Niina: Lol, I thought no one actually read the profile stuff so I just wrote whatever. Still, everything there still holds true. The compilation of recipes I've accrued over the year has made my holiday meals pure bliss. Loving that food coma feeling. =D

*Sidne: I love most of my books too, but there are some I just want to chuck out due to sloppy writing or too much damsel in distress. The thought that usually pops up is, "For F's sake woman, grow up a little." But that's only a recent thought born from reading too many books in a row that lack character growth.

I keep the books that I love so that I can re-read them. If it is a good book I will lend it to a friend as well.

Good answer. I try to give away my books, if my shelves start to get heavy. Try to keep as many of them as I can. New Follower.

Oh, yeah, I'm a big lender... but I can't bring myself to part witha book... even when I didn't like it. I KNOW that's silly :S

Your lucky that your friends read the same genre of books as you. (: Mine unfortunately don't.

Sending you best wishes,
your new follower Aleksandra @ My Bookshelves.

*Lauren B: I also keep the books that I love so that I can reread them; however, I sometimes love a book so much that I end up sharing it. Then, I'll end up buying a new copy for myself.

*Jennifer M.: I'll be practically tripping over my books if I actually kept all of them. I know I wouldn't pick up my old class textbooks after the class is finished.

*Grace: I shelves are definitely heavy. They're practically crammed full of books. Oh, how I wish I could shelve them like they do in libraries or bookstores. =(

*Sarah (saz101): I completely understand that mentality since I use to be the same. You invested in it, so you might as well keep it and maybe lend something out once in awhile to those that you trust will return them.

*Rachel Brooks: I need to start borrowing books from the library again instead of just outright buying them. So then I'll know which books are worth it to purchase.

*Aleksandra: I had to introduce my friends to the Romance genre and all its sub-genres. I had to carefully select a book for each friend by taking into account factors such as their acceptable amount of smut.

*Kristen: The true words of a hoarder! Lol. Thanks for following!

*Tribute Books Mama: Only keeping the ones you truly like saves you a lot of grief when you move. Plus you have less books to organize on your shelves and everything looks less crowded.

Same. If I don't really like the book, I would give it to my friend. But I like most of my books, so I keep them! Awesome answer! Thank you for sharing it!

I always keep the books I buy :) LoL probably because I can hardly afford to buy books, so when I do I make sure its one I love.

That and I also go to the library too much for my own good LOL

Love the blog and am now a follower :)

*samuel: I wish I could like all the books I've purchased and indeed I have tried to convince myself I did in order to keep them, however, I've learned to stop fooling myself and to just part ways with them.

*KIKA: As I mentioned before, I need to get my ass back to the library instead of purchasing books that just aren't that great. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
